| West Africa
As global economies continue to grow and the demand for energy resources are not adequately filled by the existing producing nations, activity offshore West Africa is growing faster than any other energy region. By 2010, industry experts project annual spending in this area will reach $13 billion, driven by the strength of offshore developments in Nigeria and Angola.
Deepwater exploration in this area requires advancements in technology. These factors are directing the industry to evaluate new solutions to overcome resource constraints to accelerate new production.
Global is well positioned to service this growing market with a strong track record that includes approximately 100 projects in 10 West African nations since it executed its first international project in Côte d’Ivoire in 1995. Today, the Company’s operations have expanded to include offices in Lagos, Nigeria, and Luanda, Angola, and a marine base in Tema, Ghana, with a workforce comprised of 90 percent West African national personnel.
Projects Global has completed in the West Africa region include Total E&P Angola, Addax, and Vaalco Gabon, among many others. In addition, Global was selected by Chevron Nigeria for its Transportation and Installation Project (TIP). The multi-year “Call-Out” contract involved installation of 40 pipelines and one platform offshore Nigeria. Global was also chosen by Perenco Gabon S.A. for their SEEG Pipeline project there. |
